Ratios are so much more than just calculations reflected in a graph. Those figures actually tell a detailed story about your credit union. It’s one thing to be able to calculate key ratios that affect your credit union’s daily operations, but it’s something completely different to be able to interpret them and to be able to articulate their meaning to others! There are some ratios that all members of your staff should be able to understand, regardless of their role.
Tim Gardner is an expert at helping credit union professionals interpret these numbers to better understand your credit union’s profitability, productivity and efficiency.
Although there are dozens of valuable ratios, we will be showcasing just the 5 most common.
In this one day course we will:
- Discuss general economic conditions that affect your credit union
- Look at the 5 most common ratios utilized in the industry including
- Return on Assets (and its multiple components)
- Net Worth to Total Assets
- Loan to Share
- Net Charge Off Ratio
- Efficiency Ratio
- Determine what makes up the ratios
- Why do they move upward or down and what does that mean in layman's terms
Tim Gardner’s Ratios and Financial Analysis classes have been central to the syllabus at the 3 year Southeast CUNA Management School for over 10 years where he has been hailed for his ability to simplify and break down this daunting topic.
We are thrilled to bring Tim back to Louisiana after receiving rave reviews on this program in 2018 and for his 2019 Convention breakout “The Efficient Frontier: More to Net Income Than Meets The Eye.” Here’s what some of your peers say about Tim’s presentation.
“Tim has the ability to explain ratios using everyday credit union scenarios to make it understandable.”
“This is an excellent course and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking to deepen their knowledge of key ratios and to learn how the economy effects pricing at our credit unions. Tim is energetic, passionate and really fun to listen to.”
“I was fortunate to complete a CUNA e-learning series with Tim Gardner. He is easy to understand and really keeps the audience engaged.”
