Application Specialist: Baton Rouge

Responsible for core applications and third party vendor support with respect to the core system. Maintain system integrity and responsible for backing up all duties in the operators’ logs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Maintain knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within Information Technology. Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. 


  • Maintain the credit union data processing system, automation and service orchestration platform, content management suite and other related technologies under immediate supervision. 
  • Perform installation of patches, feature updates and new releases. 
  • Orchestrate integration projects between core application and third party vendors. 
  • Ensure that integration projects meet software requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues. 
  • Evaluate results of integration projects, then report and make recommendations based on findings. 
  • Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution of very complex application and interface issues. 
  • Responsible for backing up all duties in the operators’ logs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. This includes ACH posting, payroll posting, draft posting, visa file transmissions, etc. 
  • Responsible for month-end statement procedures along with account updates that must take place on the 1st of every month. 
  • Responsible for assisting with technical support and help desk functions when needed. 
  • Participate in an on-call rotation. 
  • Assist all departments as required. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

  • Ability to type accurately. 
  • Ability to use and learn office machines (i.e., copier, fax, terminals). 
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment. 


Associate's degree in Computer Science or related area or specialized training and 3-5 years of experience in Information Technology or in a related area required, preferably in a financial institution. Knowledge of state-of-the-art hardware/software highly preferred.
