Overview
LCUL’s Compliance Department helps our member credit unions stay connected to the most current compliance and regulatory information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Numerous laws, regulations and administrative directives at both the state and federal level affect credit unions on a daily basis. Successful credit unions must remain connected to the most current legal and regulatory developments to integrate this information into their policies and procedures. The League has a variety of resources available to assist member credit unions in the areas of compliance, legal, and research services. Most of these programs and resources are provided as dues-supported services at no additional cost to your credit union.
Compliance and Research Hotline
Credit union staff and volunteers can call the League at (800) 452-7221, ext. 3024 or email compliance@lcul.com to submit questions to League staff. In addition to answering specific questions, we can also provide sample policies, salary survey information, research on timely industry topics, financial and statistical reporting, and more.
InfoSight Online Compliance Resource
InfoSight gives our member credit unions access to timely compliance information, as well as state and federal laws and regulations that affect a credit union's affairs, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Infosight is a comprehensive, searchable resource, offering detailed compliance information and Louisiana-specific guidance, useful to everyone at your credit union. Legal & Consulting Partnerships
LCUL has partnered with several well respected consultants to assist our member credit unions with their compliance and legal needs. We can provide assistance with compliance questions related to:
● Operational issues, including opening and maintaining share accounts, Individual Retirement Accounts, lending, BSA, and more
● Legal issues, through partnerships with legal consultants with extensive experience in the credit union industry, as well as a Louisiana-licensed attorney
● Other compliance issues, including updates on new legislation or changes to existing regulations that affect your credit union
Through these partnerships, all you have to do is simply contact the League at (800) 452-7221, ext. 3024 or compliance@lcul.com with your question(s) and we work with our in-house staff and partners to provide prompt answers to your questions.
InfoSight eNewsletter
We are committed to providing timely compliance information to our member credit unions. One of the tools we use to accomplish this goal is the InfoSight newsletter, distributed weekly via email. The newsletter features up-to-date compliance news, provides operational assistance through the use of FAQs or compliance Q&As, and highlights the upcoming compliance deadlines, as well as information on upcoming compliance-related education events.
