The governmental affairs department guards credit union rights at the state and national level. As financial laws and regulations are changed or challenged, the League is there, protecting the interests of credit unions and fighting for or against issues that members say are important to the vitality of the industry.
One of the most important ways that LCUL helps to protect the credit union movement is by supporting the Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC). Through your activities with CULAC, we are able to contribute to campaigns of credit union friendly elected officials and share our issues with officials that may not be familiar with credit unions.
