How do I make HOTEL RESERVATIONS?
We have negotiated a discounted group rate at the Sheraton New Orleans of $133/night plus applicable state, local, and occupancy taxes. What opportunities do credit unions have to be recognized through AWARD PROGRAMS or memorials?
Our prestigious award programs recognize excellence in marketing, as well as fiancial education efforts and philosophy in action. We also have opportunities for you to honor a credit union employees, board members, and/or volunteers through induction in to the Hall of Fame, or to memorialize those who have passed away in the last 12 months. What type of EDUCATION SESSIONS will be presented this year?
No matter what your role is in your credit union, there will be something for you at this year’s convention. We’ll have education sessions covering mobile lending, profitability and growth strategies, financial counseling & retirement planning services for members, leadership & succession planning, business lending, and more. We also have several general session speakers that will both motivate and inspire you.
Are any MEALS included in my registration fee?
Yes! The following meal functions are included in your registration fee:
- BREAKFAST IN THE EXHIBIT HALL (Thursday, 8/1 & Friday, 8/2): A light breakfast will be served for all attendees and guests on both Thursday & Friday mornings.
- VENDOR LUNCHEON (Thursday, 8/1): On Thursday, convention attendees will have the opportunity to "speed network" with our convention exhibitors during lunch and learn more about the variety of products and services being offered.
- GUEST LUNCHEON (Thursday, 8/1): Guests will be treated to an exclusive private showing of the film “T-Galop: A Louisiana Horse Story” during lunch. Guests will also have an opportunity to meet the director, Conni Castille. Conni, a Breaux Bridge native and resident, is the Assistant Director of the Moving Image Arts Center at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she teaches. - SINGER/SONGWRITER LUNCHEON (Friday, 8/2): During Friday's luncheon, attendees and guests will be treated to a special performance by Ty Herndon, an award winner country music singer/songwriter that has earned three #1 singles, seven top 10 hits, numerous top 40 hits and two gold albums. Ty will share with attendees about his life story and how he has captured it in the writing of his latest album, Journey On. His personal experiences include the highs of the good times and the eventual downward slide of his career, which included divorce, bankruptcy, lawsuits, and rehab. Ty eventually brought himself back to write for the FUNL music label and became involved with philanthropic endeavors, raising money for; Make a Wish, St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and the Special Olympics. Ty has gone on to receive a Dove award in 2010 for Best Bluegrass Recorded Song. This southern boy will charm the hearts of attendees and guests during his performance on Friday’s luncheon.
- CUCB ANNUAL MEETING (Friday, 8/2): CUCB shareholders and associates are invited to attend the CUCB Annual Meeting & Luncheon on Friday, August 2. There is no additional charge to attend this luncheon but pre-registration is required.
- FRIDAY NIGHT FUNCTION: Grab your cowboy boots and join us on August 2 at LCUL’s ‘Friday Night Hoedown’ social event. Hosted by LCUL and CUNA Mutual Group, the night is sure to bring food, fun and entertainment. We’ll be rootin’ tootin’ cowboy bootin’ with one of the best local bands around, covering all your favorite songs. Great prizes and giveaways will also be on hand. Hope to see y’all there...in your western wear! Admission to the event is included in registration for attendees and guests.
How can I register for the golf tournament?
LCUL’s Annual ‘Not-Just-For-Golfers’ Golf Tournament will be held Wednesday, July 31. We are excited to be at a beautiful new location, Lakewood Country Club (www.lakewoodgolf.com). You can either use the golf registration form included in the general convention registration spreadsheet (found in the 'Forms' section above) or click here to download the regsitration form for the tournament.
